Video Downloader: Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 1, 2026 Last updated: October 1, 2026 Developer: Shiv Fabrics

Package: com.reelvault.videodownloader

This Privacy Policy explains how Shiv Fabrics ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of the ReelVault: Downloader & Player Android app ("the App"), handles information when you use it. The App lets you save videos from links you paste or share into it, browse supported websites in a built-in browser, save WhatsApp statuses that are already on your phone, and play videos stored on your device. Please read this policy together with our Terms of Use.

No account neededWe do not ask for your name, email, phone number or any login.
Your files stay on your phoneDownloaded videos, saved statuses and your browsing history are stored only on your device.
Limited analyticsWe use Google Firebase to measure app usage and fix crashes.
We never sell dataWe do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

1Information we do not collect

The App does not require registration. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise or approximate location, photos, messages, call logs, or payment information. The App does not show third-party advertising and does not contain in-app purchases.

2Information stored only on your device

To work, the App keeps the following data locally on your phone. We cannot see this data and it is not sent to our servers:

  • Downloaded videos and audio, and the list of your downloads (file name, source link, size, date).
  • WhatsApp statuses you choose to save. The App reads the WhatsApp status folder only after you grant access to that folder, and only to show and copy the statuses you select.
  • In-app browser data: the pages you visit, your browsing history and website cookies. Cookies are set by the websites you visit (for example, to keep you signed in on that site).
  • App settings: language, theme (dark/light) and similar preferences.

You can delete this data at any time. Go to Settings and use Clear browser history, Clear cookies or Clear cache, delete files from the Downloads or Library screen, or uninstall the App. If Android backup is turned on, your device may include App settings in your Google account backup under Google's own terms.

3Information collected automatically

We use Google Firebase services to understand how the App is used, keep it stable and adjust features. These services collect information automatically:

  • Firebase Analytics: app interactions (screens opened, buttons used, sessions), app version, device model, operating system version, language, country/region derived from the IP address, the Firebase app instance ID and, where allowed by your device settings, the Android Advertising ID. The Advertising ID is used for analytics and attribution only. We do not use it to show you ads.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports and diagnostic data such as the stack trace, device model, OS version, free memory and disk space, app state at the time of the crash, and a random installation identifier.
  • Firebase Remote Config, A/B Testing and Installations: a random Firebase installation ID and basic device and app information, used to deliver app settings and test feature changes.

This information does not identify you by name. It is processed by Google LLC as our service provider. See Firebase privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy. Google retains Crashlytics crash data for up to 90 days, and Analytics data according to the retention settings of our Firebase project.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your device's Settings › Google › Ads (or Settings › Privacy › Ads on some devices).

4Links, downloads and third-party websites

When you paste or share a link into the App, or open a website in the built-in browser, the App connects directly to that website to load the page and fetch the media you choose. That website receives your IP address and the request, as with any browser, and handles it under its own privacy policy. Supported sites include public pages on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Reddit, Pinterest, Snapchat, Threads, Vimeo, Dailymotion and Rumble. Searches typed into the browser are sent to Google Search. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

The App does not support downloading from YouTube. The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these platforms. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

5Feedback and ratings

If you send us feedback, the App opens your email app with a pre-filled message. We receive your email address and anything you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you and improve the App, and we delete it when it is no longer needed. In-app ratings use the Google Play In-App Review service. Your review is posted to Google Play under your Google account and handled under Google's policies.

6App permissions

The App asks only for the permissions it needs. Android shows you a prompt for the sensitive ones, and you can revoke them at any time in your device settings.

7How we use and share information

We use the information described above only to provide and improve the App, fix crashes, understand which features are used, and respond to your messages. We do not sell, rent or trade your information. We share it only with Google (Firebase) acting as our service provider, or when required by law, such as to comply with a valid legal request.

8Data security

Data sent to Firebase is encrypted in transit using HTTPS (TLS). Data stored on your device is protected by Android's app sandbox. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

9Your choices and rights

  • Delete local data using the Clear options in Settings, by deleting files, or by uninstalling the App.
  • Reset your Advertising ID or opt out of ads personalization in your device settings.
  • Revoke any permission in Android Settings › Apps › Video Downloader › Permissions.
  • Ask us to access or delete analytics data linked to your device by emailing us (section 12). Because we do not know who you are, we may ask for the Firebase installation ID shown in the App or other details to find the data.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, California or India), you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR, CCPA/CPRA or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. You can exercise them by contacting us, and we will respond within the time the law requires.

10Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11Your responsibility for content

Download only content that you own, that is in the public domain, or that you have permission from the rights holder to download. You are responsible for following the terms of the websites you use and the copyright laws of your country. We do not host, store or share any downloaded content.

12Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. Significant changes may also be announced in the App.
